While monitoring any improvement on our websites’ rankings based on what I’ve been reading about search engine optimization, me and Floy checked our websites’ rankings in Yahoo and Google using “baguio hotels” keyphrase. It’s puzzling how a single search engine will give different results for a search keyphrase on two different PCs. Well, we have different geographical locations. Would that make a difference? I’m not sure. I just think that they should have similar results regardless of your location.
It wouldn’t have been too puzzling had the difference in results were just mild. But get this: www.innsisonbaguio.com was on page 26 (arghhh) in Google in my PC but nowhere on Floy’s PC (more arghhh)! In Yahoo, www.innsisonbaguio.com was on #20 on my PC but #60 on Floy’s.

Oh well….

I finally made it to this stage….write my first blog using WordPress. Not even sure what to write. Anyway, I’ll just keep on typing what comes to mind.

To be honest, I have an ulterior motive why I started this blog. I thought by doing so, it will increase backlinks to my websites (http://www.innsison.com, http://www.pinescity.com and http://www.innsisonbaguio.com) and therefore improve their corresponding pageranks. I read in one of the Isulong Seoph websites that many of the entries of the Isulong Seoph contest are capitalizing on blogs and forums to create backlinks. So I’ll give it a shot too.
Reading thru the articles and the documentation at the WordPress website, the installation looked pretty scary. Good thing, Yahoo made it easy for me.
